Welcome to the Former New Jersey State Troopers Association
The F.T.A was founded in 1959 and at that time was
known as The Association of Former New Jersey State Troopers, Inc.
The purpose of the Association then was two-fold: first, to continue the camaraderie of those retired troopers who had
served during the early years of the Division of State Police; second, to offer the combined knowledge, experience and
moral support of its members to former Troopers and the Division.
Since its early days the Association has grown to become an advocate for its members and survivors seeking to improve
benefits in an ever-changing economy. It has continued to support the Division not only in carrying out its mission in
the law enforcement field but also to maintain that tradition of "State Police family" by supporting the social functions
that are intended to reinforce that spirit of "family". The Association maintains that belief that "Once a Trooper,
always a Trooper" and though retired or separated from the Division we are still a part of "The Outfit".
